Prada's 1999 partnership with W. L. Gore created the Prada Sport line, merging technical mountain wear with athleisure. The Luna Rossa Sailing team's launch demanded performance outerwear, establishing this jacket as the template for future iterations like the Luna Rossa Challenge collection.

The 2002 model features proprietary Gore-Tex with sealed seams, surpassing earlier versions in durability. Four pockets (two exterior hand pockets, two interior Velcro stash pockets) and adjustable neoprene cuffs ensure weather resistance. The signature Prada red tab on chest and back defines one of the house's most iconic technical jackets.
